It was during the end of summer and beginning of fall in the year 4707 that each of you found yourselves for your own reasons in Sandpoint. The anticipation for the Swallowtail Festival, in honor of Desna was very important this year because of the dedication of the Sandpoint Cathedral. The cathedral was being built to replace the one that had burnt down some years before, and would be dedicated to not only Desna but to the deities Abadar, Sarenrae, Shelyn, Gozreh and Erastil.
Mayor Kendra Deverin was excited for her town and for Abstalar Zantus the priest who would be in charge of the cathedral. Abstalar a priest of Desna and former student of the last priest, Ezakien Tobyn who had died five years previously when the old cathedral burned to ground, knew also how important it was for the cathedral to be dedicated without issue.
